Job Description

The Lead QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) Engineer plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of best practices to ensure the quality and reliability of project deliverables. This professional is tasked with leading the QA/QC team to evaluate, analyze, and improve processes and systems to achieve consistent quality standards. The Lead QA/QC Engineer must work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify risks, establish testing protocols, and resolve quality issues efficiently. By fostering a culture of quality, this position helps to eliminate defects and improve business processes, ultimately contributing to the overall success and reputation of the organization. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in quality management systems.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the QA/QC team in developing and implementing quality standards and procedures.
  • Oversee and manage all phases of the quality assurance process, from planning to execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality metrics are integrated into project plans.
  • Develop risk management strategies to identify potential quality issues before they occur.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to QA/QC staff on quality assurance techniques and tools.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the quality management system to senior management.
  • Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner to prevent project delays.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to drive improvements in production and engineering processes.
  • Ensure all quality documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and properly filed for compliance.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts to determine the origins of quality failures and suggest corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in a QA/QC or quality management role.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a quality assurance team.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex quality data.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for quality management systems.
  • Proficient in using quality-related software tools and applications.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with team members and stakeholders.
  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to continuously improving quality processes.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plus.
