Job Description

The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our organization's technology infrastructure. This key position involves providing technical assistance, supporting end-users, and maintaining hardware and software to guarantee effective and efficient use of the company's IT resources. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for analyzing and diagnosing various technical issues, managing and installing systems, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver with an ability to convey technical information to non-technical users. They will work as part of a dedicated team that prides itself on delivering top-notch technology solutions and maintaining uptime and security for all users and departments within the company.


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems.
  • Respond to technical requests and provide help to ensure smooth technical operations.
  • Diagnose system errors and troubleshoot technical issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Configure, install, and maintain hardware, software, and peripherals for end users.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation for IT systems and users' guides.
  • Participate in the installation and configuration of software applications and updates.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure consistent company-wide system uptime and performance.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks for optimal performance.
  • Ensure data protection, backup, and recovery measures are effectively implemented and followed.
  • Liaise with external vendors to resolve technical issues and procure necessary tools and software.
  • Conduct IT training and orientation sessions for new technology systems and tools.
  • Track and report recurring technical issues to assist in longer-term strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or in a similar technical role.
  • Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, and diverse IT environments.
  • Experience with common operating systems and software applications relevant to the role.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills to assist non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
