Job Description

The Financial Controller plays a critical role in overseeing and managing a company's financial operations. This position serves as the backbone of the financial department, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. Working closely with senior management, the Financial Controller provides insights and recommendations that guide the company’s financial strategies. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership abilities and a passion for optimizing financial performance. It requires a comprehensive understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure. This position contributes significantly to the company's financial health and operational success.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard the financial integrity of the organization.
  • Conduct budget planning and financial forecasting to guide business decisions.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently and effectively.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend actionable insights.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual financial audit process to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures for operational improvements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals to achieve departmental goals.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Strategize to optimize liquidity, manage cash flow, and control expenses.
  • Support the CFO in investor relations and fundraising efforts when needed.
  • Review and approve financial reports presented to stakeholders and partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification highly preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in financial management roles.
  • Strong proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required for strategic decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to manage a finance team.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
