Job Description

The Facilities Manager is a critical member of any organization's operational team, responsible for ensuring that all building systems operate smoothly and efficiently. This position involves the oversight of multiple facilities and entails a wide range of duties centered around the maintenance of properties, management of budgets, coordination with vendors, compliance with regulations, and ensuring workplace safety. A successful Facilities Manager not only manages day-to-day operations but also strategically plans for future building and infrastructure needs, aligning them with the organization's goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to multitask, and the capability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders. In addition to technical knowledge in facility management, the ideal candidate should possess a proactive and adaptable mindset to navigate the dynamic nature of the work environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for facility operations and maintenance.
  • Manage and oversee facilities maintenance activities, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for routine and emergency maintenance services.
  • Maintain and monitor budgets related to facility operations and cost control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Lead facility inspections and audits to identify and resolve potential issues promptly.
  • Plan and execute facilities projects such as renovations, relocations, and expansions.
  • Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for facility systems.
  • Oversee security and safety protocols to protect the organization's assets and personnel.
  • Manage facility-related documentation, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Analyze facility performance data to optimize operations and energy efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor facilities team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance techniques, and technologies.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate with vendors effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage teams.
  • Certification in facility management or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in facility management software and technology solutions is advantageous.
