Electrical Technician (225-702)

As an Electrical Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components. You will work closely with engineers to ensure that all electrical systems are functional, safe, and efficient. This position requires a combination of technical skills and knowledge of electrical systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively. You will be responsible for carrying out routine inspections, testing systems for issues, and upgrading equipment as needed. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to follow technical instructions to the letter, and committed to maintaining safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electrical systems and wiring as per regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure compliance and safety.
• Diagnose issues with electrical systems and components, utilizing testing equipment and schematics.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document inspection results and repairs accurately.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve complex electrical issues.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with local and national regulations and standards.
• Update systems and replace outdated or malfunctioning components as required.
• Train apprentices and new technicians on company protocols and safety practices.
• Interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to install complex electrical systems.
• Maintain an inventory of necessary supplies and equipment for electrical work.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls for electrical repairs and adjustments.
• Improve current electrical systems to enhance performance and efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with a technical certification preferred.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Technician in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues promptly.
• Good physical condition to handle manual labor and work in diverse environments.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in electrical work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
