Welding Fabrication Supervisor

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises welding/fabrication yard erection activities (fit up, welding and lifting).

• Supervises welding/fabrication yard installation operations (piping installation, E.I.T.),

• Co-ordinates and interfaces between fabrication/installation and prefabrication activities.

• Able to understand the specifications and drawings such as applying specifications, reading drawings along with knowledge of welding terminology, and welding symbols. Welding/Fabrication supervisors should have a basic knowledge of welding and base materials. It includes base materials, welding metallurgy, weldability characteristics, welding filler metal types, material testing, and specifications.

• They should have familiarity with the welding, cutting equipment, brazing, knowledge of theory, and applications.

• Should possess knowledge of welding practices. It comprises the influence of welding parameters, application, and storage of filler metals, factors affecting variables.

• They should observe welding inspections properly. He should make sure all the welding activities are performed as per the requirements before the evaluation of inspection that is conducted by qualified inspection personnel.

• Co-ordinates sub-contractors involved in the assembly stages.

• Ensures compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.

• Searches for the most efficient technical solutions.

• Provides quantitative data for producing the progress reports.
