Job Description

The Distribution Lead plays a pivotal role in managing and strategizing the distribution operations within an organization. With a focus on ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness, this position involves overseeing the entire supply chain to guarantee seamless transportation and delivery of products to the end customer. The ideal candidate will bring solid leadership skills combined with in-depth knowledge of distribution processes, logistics, and supply chain management techniques. The Distribution Lead will be responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, while maximizing customer satisfaction. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to evolving market demands, thereby enhancing the overall distribution service experience.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement distribution strategies aligned with business objectives and goals.
  • Oversee and manage daily distribution operations ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Coordinate with supply chain partners and vendors to optimize logistics performance.
  • Analyze distribution data to identify and address potential inefficiencies and risks.
  • Ensure all distribution activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Lead and mentor distribution team members to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Monitor and assess key performance indicators to drive continuous process improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align distribution plans with production schedules.
  • Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen distribution challenges promptly.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with transportation and logistics service providers.
  • Prepare and present reports on distribution performance metrics to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in distribution or logistics management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of distribution and warehousing practices and procedures.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing distribution teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the capability to resolve complex distribution issues.
  • Experience using logistics technology and distribution management software solutions.
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
