Chief Accountant

The Chief Accountant leads the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, preparing financial statements, and supporting strategic decision-making. This position plays a critical role in managing budgets, audits, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and experience in leading financial operations for a mid to large-sized organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.

• Manage the budgeting process and assist in financial forecasting.

• Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.

• Monitor and improve internal accounting processes and controls.

• Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance team members.

• Analyze financial performance and prepare variance reports.

• Liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities as needed.

• Implement ERP systems and accounting software upgrades when required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred.

• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT laws, and local compliance regulations.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.

• Fluent in English; Arabic is an added advantage.
