Job Description

The Assistant Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department by supporting the accountant with account management, preparing financial statements, and maintaining financial records. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles. As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with audits, reconciling financial discrepancies, and preparing budget forecasts. Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and monthly close processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are recorded.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date ledgers and financial records.
  • Prepare and distribute invoices for clients and ensure timely payments.
  • Assist with audits by providing necessary financial documentation and information.
  • Input financial data into accounting software with high accuracy.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and perform variance analysis with supervision.
  • Support the finance department in managing the accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in the payroll process by reviewing and reconciling payroll data.
  • Generate financial reports and assist with financial analysis as required.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards of the company.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience of at least 2 years in an accounting role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for cross-departmental interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
