Job Description

A Production Planning Engineer plays a crucial role in the manufacturing and production sectors. They are responsible for ensuring that all production activities are strategically planned to meet customer demands efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities

  • Develop, Implement, and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer demands timely.
  • Analyze and forecast production capacity needs to optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure that materials meet production schedules.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams to align production plans with design specifications.
  • Continuously assess production processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency enhancement.
  • Implement and manage tools and systems for tracking production performance metrics.
  • Work with quality assurance to ensure products meet required standards before delivery.
  • Address potential production bottlenecks to prevent any delay in the manufacturing process.
  • Prepare and present production planning reports to management for informed decision-making.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on production planning processes and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company procedures across the production line.
  • Liaise with the sales department to align production plans with customer orders and forecasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a knack for optimizing production processes.
  • Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills to work effectively with different departments.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with the capability to create effective production schedules.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
