Job Description

Key Responsibilities:


The Construction Manager is responsible for overall planning, coordination, execution, and supervision of construction activities on site. The role ensures that all works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. The Construction Manager oversees site teams, subcontractors, and logistics while maintaining communication with consultants, clients, and internal stakeholders.


Planning & Coordination



  • Plan, monitor, and control all site activities to ensure productivity and adherence to project schedules.

  • Develop and implement construction methodologies and production control systems, including preparation of method statements.

  • Prepare work packages and pre-start activity plans.

  • Coordinate on-site and off-site logistics with procurement for timely delivery of materials and equipment.

  • Plan and manage pre-commissioning, final handover, and completion of all snag items.


Site Supervision & Execution



  • Supervise and coordinate all on-site work, ensuring proper allocation of responsibilities and effective site organization.

  • Oversee execution of works according to construction programs, method statements, specifications, and drawings.

  • Track, document, and communicate all design changes as instructed by the Project Manager or Consultant.

  • Coordinate and lead subcontractor activities, holding regular site meetings to review progress, productivity, and quality.


Quality Assurance & Control



  • Review site quality observations and inspection reports, taking corrective and preventive actions as needed.

  • Ensure all inspections and tests are completed before work is covered, in coordination with the project quality team.

  • Manage non-conforming products and oversee remedial works.

  • Evaluate the performance of subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and shop drawings, resolving technical issues with the Engineering Department and Project Manager.


Communication & Liaison



  • Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and clients to ensure compliance and smooth project progress.

  • Ensure proper documentation and communication of verbal instructions and design changes, forwarding necessary information to the Commercial Manager/Quantity Surveyor.


Health, Safety & Environment



  • Implement and enforce safety procedures on site, aiming for zero accidents.

  • Take disciplinary action against safety violations and respond appropriately to any incidents or accidents.


Required Qualifications & Competencies:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in construction management.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

  • Proficient in spoken and written English.

  • Sound technical knowledge of construction materials, methods, and logistics.

  • Ability to resolve conflicts and crises efficiently.

  • Strong understanding of construction planning, scheduling, and site execution methods.
