Role Overview

The Construction Manager – Mainline Civils will oversee the execution of civil works along the mainline corridor of a major high speed rail. This role involves managing site operations, coordinating with contractors and consultants, and ensuring timely delivery of works in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all on-site civil construction activities for mainline infrastructure (e.g., earthworks, track bed preparation, drainage, retaining structures).
  • Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Monitor construction progress, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to schedule and budget.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage permits, inspections, and compliance with local authorities and regulations.
  • Support interface management between civil works and systems (track, signaling, MEP).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably high-speed rail
  • Proven experience managing mainline civil works in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with regional construction regulations and authority procedures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
