Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Lead QA Engineer to work on Qualys’ next-generation data platform and middleware. Working alongside a very talented team of engineers and architects, you will be responsible for automating, prototyping, designing, and testing highly distributed, large-scale systems for quality and performance, and supporting a highly scalable SaaS based cloud security data platform. This is an excellent opportunity to be an integral part of a team building Qualys’ next-generation micro services-based technology platform processing over 100 million transactions and terabytes of data per day, leverage open source technologies, and work on challenging and business-impacting projects.

This is for a position in our Pune office in India, but will require working with a larger team of QA engineers with the HQ team based in the Bay Area, California, and North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Data Platform development team to identify/communicate defects, monitor resolutions, and author a complete series of acceptance and functional tests.

In this role, you will lead the design and execution of test strategies for highly distributed, large-scale systems of our data infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, SecOPS, and product teams to ensure quality, reliability, and performance across the platform.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4 to 8 years of professional experience in Automation Testing using Java with TestNG.
• Strong expertise in automation framework design and implementing test suites.
• Strong experience testing distributed systems and data platforms at scale.
• Good knowledge of Linux and Shell Scripting.
• Proficiency in scripting and test automation using Python and Java.
• Expertise in Test Automation Framework development from scratch using tools like Junit, TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, and Pytest.
• Familiarity with containerized environments and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Solid understanding of system-level debugging, log analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of relational databases and practical abilities to integrate SQL queries into an automation framework are a plus.
• Sound knowledge of tools like JIRA, GIT, Zephyr.
• Must be a critical thinker with excellent verbal and written skills, strong communication, and collaboration skills.
