Job Description

The Guest Service Associate in the Food & Beverage (F&B) Service department plays a pivotal role in ensuring that guests have an exceptional dining experience. This position requires an individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. The Guest Service Associate is responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit. They are the face of the restaurant and contribute significantly to guest loyalty and contentment. By being attentive, knowledgeable, and personable, the Guest Service Associate helps in promoting a welcoming atmosphere and resolving any guest concerns promptly and efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner as they arrive.
  • Provide detailed menu information and answer any questions guests may have.
  • Take accurate orders and input them into the point-of-sale system promptly.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests while adhering to proper service etiquette.
  • Ensure that serving stations are well-stocked and clean at all times.
  • Assist guests with any special requests, dietary needs, or allergies.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to fulfill guest orders seamlessly.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and liaise with management when necessary.
  • Process billing and payments accurately, providing guests with correct invoices.
  • Maintain dining area tidiness and cleanliness, ensuring a safe environment.
  • Promote restaurant specials, loyalty programs, and upsell menu items as appropriate.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on service standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; hospitality certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during shifts.
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, to meet restaurant needs.
