We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the operations of a 154 MW wind power plant located in Andhra Pradesh. This role requires hands-on experience with Balance of Plant (BOP) systems and a strong commitment to maintaining operational excellence in line with the O&M quality plan. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with O&M stakeholders to ensure optimal plant performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-on experience in O&M of 220kV/110kV/33kV substations and 33kV HT yards.
Operation and maintenance of transmission lines and BOP assets (substations, switchyards, and related equipment’s) with wind turbine operation.
SCADA-based substation operation and remote monitoring with troubleshooting skills.
Energy meter calibration, installation, commissioning, and integration for new connections with regulatory.
Preparation and maintenance of BOP documentation (drawings, test reports, O&M manuals).
Daily/weekly/monthly reporting on outages, maintenance, and BOP health Preventive and periodic maintenance of PSS equipment (quarterly/yearly).
Responsible for timely execution of all activities related to JMR and energy billing.
Coordination with DISCOMs/SLDCs for shutdowns, synchronization, and inspections Handling of JMR activities with utility and government officials.
Compliance with CEIG norms, grid codes, and regulatory standards.
Planning and execution of plant shutdowns with resource and manpower allocation with tracker usage for material reservations and vendor evaluation.
EHS implementation, site audits, toolbox talks and safety training
Emergency response planning for major faults (e.g., transformer trips, line failures).
Ensuring 24x7 plant readiness and rapid restoration during breakdowns.
Capable of managing local teams effectively and adapting to new regulations as per regulatory requirements.
Willing to take on a challenging role with a strong problem-solving mindset.
Prerequisites
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BE – Electrical)
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in power plant operations and maintenance, preferably in wind energy.
Valid Electrical License.
Proven experience in Wind Power Plant Operations & Maintenance (O&M).
Proficient in testing and maintenance of Power Transformers.
Strong skills in Vendor Management and coordination.
Familiarity with meter software functions, SCADA systems, RTE, PMUA, and communication protocols.
Basic understanding of Substation Operations and safety standards.
Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong teamwork orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Effective communication skills and a high level of initiative.
