Senior Manager Software Engineering

We are seeking a highly experienced and future-focused Engineering Manager to lead the development of our next generation of cloud-native, scalable AI-powered applications.

You will act as the critical bridge between data science innovation and production-ready software, ensuring that all Data Science solutions are delivered as seamless, resilient, and highly available applications.

About You (Skills & Qualification Required)

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or master’s degree (BE, ME, B Tech, M Tech, MCA)
• Overall 14+ years of experience in Software Development, with a proven track record of designing, building, and deploying large-scale, enterprise-level systems.
• Should have extensive experience in building scalable, distributed software architectures.
• Proficient in programming language such as Python or Java (Python preferred given the AI/ML focus).
• Strong experience designing and implementing REST-based APIs for both internal services and consumption of third-party services (e.g., OpenAI, external ML platforms).
• Experience in developing and deploying applications within cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Should have experience in people management, team structuring, and mentorship.
• Should have foundational understanding of core AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science concepts and workflows.
  
  

It would be great if you also have,

• Prior experience successfully launching and scaling production AI/ML applications.
• Expertise in modern DevOps, MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
  
  

What will you be doing in this role?

You will be responsible for

• Leading the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of new AI-driven applications and features, ensuring they are scalable, highly available, and cloud-native.
• Collaborating with Data Science team and providing software engineering expertise to effectively integrate, operationalize, and deploy complex AI/ML models into the core product software.
• Defining the technical roadmap for AI engineering, driving the adoption of modern software development practices, advanced tooling, and a futuristic technology stack.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for product management, data science, and executive stakeholders, aligning technical priorities with overall business goals.
• Providing technical guidance to the engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The existing team is spread across India with strong technical and analytical skills. You will be a part of Development Group responsible for delivering world class products and innovative solutions in the field of IP

Hours of Work

This is a fulltime opportunity with Clarivate. You will be working in IST time zone, 9 hours of work per day including 1-hour lunch break.
