EY-Consulting – Teradata Database Administrator (DBA)- Technical Consultant
The opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Teradata Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Teradata database management, performance tuning, and Data Modeling. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our Teradata databases.
Your Key Responsibilities And Skill
- Install, configure, and upgrade Teradata database systems and tools.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies for optimization.
- Perform backup and recovery tasks using Backup, Archive, and Restore procedures.
- Manage security policies, access controls, and user roles in Teradata.
- Hands on experience of disaster recovery, high availability, and backup strategies.
- Monitor system resource usage, troubleshoot issues, and resolve database-related incidents.
- Participate in capacity planning and performance analysis.
- Automate routine DBA tasks and support batch job management.
- Create and maintain documentation related to Teradata architecture, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and data privacy standards.
- Proficiency in SQL, scripting (e.g., Shell, Python), and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL pipelines.
- knowledge of Teradata utilities like BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT, and TPump.
- Experience with cloud-based Teradata, is this required ?
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with Teradata deployments, is this required ?
- Knowledge of tools if any ?
- Teradata certifications (e.g., Teradata Certified Professional), is required ?
- Experience with Teradata Viewpoint, Data Lab, and Teradata Studio.
- Support data migration, ETL processes, and database integration tasks.
- Collaborate with data engineers, application developers, and infrastructure teams.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Computer Science degree or equivalent
- 4 to 7 years of Teradata DBA experience
- Good understanding of DBA and performance tuning task
- Should have positive and learning attitude, Good Communication, Strong Analytical skills
