Engineer II

Aristocrat is looking for a hard-working Engineer II to join our ambitious and world-class engineering team! What Youll Do

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including crafting, coding, debugging, and documenting games.
• Develop new games and modify existing legacy games, ensuring the production of quality products.
• Develop, test, and document game software according to defined criteria.
• Produce project and task estimates, schedules, and ensure projects are completed on time.
• Carry out extensive testing of game software to verify logic and syntax accuracy.
• Aid testers and support personnel in identifying problems with game software.
• Provide feedback on development considerations and usability issues.
• Conduct software analysis, including requirements and code reviews.
• Apply industry-standard tools and equipment for essential software development functions.
• Be a technology flag bearer, coordinating all aspects of games as products and their success.
• Apply different tools and methodologies to develop functional and intuitive game solutions.
• Develop and implement product specifications with attention to system integration, sustainability, and feasibility.
• Suggest and implement solutions for process improvements and critical problems.
• Adhere strictly to quality, memory management, and gameplay experience guidelines.

What Were Looking For

• 2+ years of full-stack web development experience with a strong knowledge of object-oriented development methodologies.
• Proficient understanding of JavaScript (ES5 mandatory, ES6+ is advantageous).
• Proficiency with promises, either native or with third-party libraries (experience with Bluebird is a huge plus).
• Proficient understanding of PHP7+ for server-side component development.
• Experience in software development and architecture, including composing high- and low-level construction documentation and class diagrams.
• Knowledge of Docker, relational databases, and caching tools like Memcached or Redis.
• Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the mobile/web gaming industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with CI tools and hands-on exposure to Mercurial, SVN, GIT, Jenkins, and Google Cloud would be advantageous.
• Previous involvement in product-centric organizations that follow Agile Scrum practices is beneficial.
