Job Description

The IT Support Officer plays a critical role in ensuring that an organization's technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. This role involves providing vital support and troubleshooting for a company's IT systems, hardware, and software. The ideal candidate for this position is someone with strong technical skills and a passion for solving complex problems. The IT Support Officer is responsible for addressing user inquiries, diagnosing system problems, and recommending and implementing solutions. This position requires excellent customer service skills, as the IT Support Officer will frequently interact with end-users, including employees, to help them resolve their technical issues. Additionally, the IT Support Officer must stay current with emerging technology trends to ensure the organization uses the most effective tools and practices.


Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support to end-users experiencing IT-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems promptly.
  • Maintain and support the organization's network systems and servers regularly.
  • Install, configure, and update computer software and operating systems.
  • Assist in setting up new users by creating accounts and profiles securely.
  • Respond to help desk tickets and manage queue with attention to urgency.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to ensure continuity of technology services.
  • Provide training sessions to employees on new software and IT procedures.
  • Document issues and resolutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain inventory of all IT equipment and track asset location changes.
  • Support the IT team in the implementation of new systems and upgrades.
  • Ensure data integrity and security in compliance with organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in an IT support or technical support role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, required daily.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and remote support tools advantageous.
