Purpose of the role

The Digital and Technology team of General Mills India Centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the Global Digital Transformation initiative at General Mills in capacity of an Sr. D&T Analyst – Data Stewardship. This role will report into D&T Manager - Data Stewardship, GDGS team in India and functionally collaborate with stakeholders across the Enterprise teams. It is an Individual contributor role. This individual has ownership and accountabilities to execute Data governance practices by developing and supporting the data policies, rules and standards for our HR, Finance and Enterprise domain leveraging their experience in any or all of these areas.

Key Accountabilities

• Apply data governance to multiple, complex, high visibility domains.
• Lead Data Governance initiatives within the domain, acting as single point of contact for major transformations.
• Attend and represent on Domain Governance Councils
• Develops, champions and enforces sustainable data governance policies, processes, standards and guidelines
• Partners with assigned domain data owners to develop domain data governance roadmap
• Coaches segment and functional business partners to ensure appropriate application of the GMI Data Governance Framework
• Consolidate and communicate all data activities occurring within the domain.
• Tightly partner with GDGS peers to operationalize, monitor, and evolve Data Governance practices.
• Ensure and support in Developing DMP’s/ADMP’s for the respective region.
• Support facilitation of Governance Council meetings with cross-functional leadership. Drive decisions to actions.
• Collaborate closely with large scope projects that have direct dependency on data quality.
• Ensure data is documented in Enterprise Data Catalog (Alation)
• Understand data lineage and provide data flow consultation.
• Facilitate Data Maturity Assessments for data sets not considered Master Data and then help business implement Maturity Assessment goals.
  
  

• Bachelors degree and 15+ years of total experience and 6+ years of related experience
  
  

• Experience with working in HR, Finance and Enterprise Domains.
• Experience with Collibra, (or any other Data Quality Tools), Alation and/or other data governance tools.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Data Governance strategies and processes
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience with Data Analysis, Data Visualization, End to End Process mindset, Lineage.
• Exposure to Database Technologies (GCP, Cloud, etc)
• Exposure to Agile Methodologies (ADO, etc)
• Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change within their domain
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience and competence in leading, influencing, coaching and mentoring others
• Attention to detail with the ability to identify patterns and inconsistencies
