As a Specialist, you will assist in managing corporate tax related matters of the Indian entities including tax compliance, litigation and advisory.

Role & Responsibilities -

  • As a Tax Specialist, you will assist in managing corporate tax related matters of the Indian entities including tax compliance, litigation and advisory. This position will be in Mumbai.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual/quarterly foreign tax packages as a part if the global annual tax provision which includes analysing and verifying general ledger balances used in tax computation reconcile tax account balances
  • Get along with third party service providers and coordination and assistance with the review of the income tax returns, withholding tax (TDS) returns of Indian entities. Prepare or review quarterly estimated tax calculations, TDS payments, returns.
  • Assist with special projects such as APA and withholding taxes, etc.,
  • Review, verify and maintain withholding tax certificates, intercompany agreements, etc.,
  • Review payments made to non-resident suppliers by Indian entities and advise on withholding tax obligations
  • Assist with GST compliance and audits, if required
  • Get along with the Income tax authorities on various tax matters.
  • Assist with income tax assessments and respond to tax inquiries from various stakeholders
  • Provide information to KPMG/other consultants on tax matters etc
  • Assist in managing projects/ engagements including coordinating the efforts of other departments and offices
  • Managing notice log and compliance calendar
  • Organizing/maintaining a database of tax memos, transaction details etc (anything for future audits)
  • General tax research, as needed

We expect you to have:

  • Masters in Tax and/or CA equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience with multi-national firm, Big 4 firm, and/or tax department in a related industry post completion of CA.
  • A detail oriented, organized thinker with strong accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to optimally gather and convey information in a variety of situations.
  • Proactive work style and comfortable working with minimal direction.
  • Must be intellectually curious to continue development technically as well as learn about the business.
  • Advanced Excel skills vital, including the ability to design and utilize effective spreadsheets. Experience with Workday Financials is a plus.

It Would Be Great If You (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Exposure or basic knowledge of foreign country tax laws a plus.
  • Software or high-tech company experience preferred
