Role Description:

About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Workday Financials Developer to support and enhance our Workday platform. This role will focus primarily on Business-as-Usual activities, including ongoing system support, maintenance, and enhancements of financial modules. A key responsibility will be ensuring efficient and timely resolution of issues, while also delighting users through solution-focused communication and proactive actions. The successful candidate will lead efforts to resolve complex issues, direct other developers when needed, and act as a trusted partner for both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for Workday Financials modules, ensuring smooth operations and rapid, effective issue resolution.
  • Take ownership of BAU issues, lead resolution efforts, and direct other developers as necessary to deliver timely outcomes.
  • Deliver a solution-focused user experience, communicating clearly, setting realistic expectations, and following through with actions that address business needs.
  • Develop, test, and deploy enhancements, reports, and integrations within the Workday Financials ecosystem.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user-reported issues with a focus on timeliness, root-cause analysis, and long-term sustainability.
  • Maintain and optimize existing Workday integrations and reports.
  • Partner with Finance and Technology teams to prioritize and manage a backlog of BAU requests, ensuring business needs are met within agreed timelines.
  • Perform impact assessments of Workday updates and releases, implementing required changes and enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, security standards, and audit requirements in all Workday Financials processes.
  • Document solutions, configurations, and system changes to support knowledge sharing and sustainability.

Required Experience:

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Workday Financials modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expenses, Procurement).
  • Strong technical skills in Workday reporting, calculated fields, and EIBs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead issue resolution efforts, coordinating and directing junior developers when required.
  • Track record of resolving issues quickly and effectively, while ensuring users feel supported through clear, solution-focused communication.
  • Familiarity with integration management and supporting middleware or cloud-based integration tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize effectively, and deliver within deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build trust with business stakeholders and delight users.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments, preferably using Jira.
  • Knowledge of Workday release management and the ability to assess and test new features.
  • Exposure to cloud-native tools, automation practices, or AI-enhanced reporting/analytics.
