What You Will Do

As a Staff Engineer at TJX, you will design and develop scalable, extensible data pipelines to enable modern data integration and data management solutions, focusing on innovation and ensuring data quality within the enterprise/customer data warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Data Engineering team in developing, testing, documenting, and supporting scalable data pipelines.
- Collaborate with analytics and business teams to enhance data models, improving business intelligence tools, data accessibility, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Design and build data integrations, create a data quality framework, and write unit, integration, and functional tests while documenting the work.
- Design, implement, and automate the deployment of distributed systems to collect and process streaming events from multiple sources.
- Build new data integrations, including APIs, to accommodate increasing data volume and complexity.
- Collaborate with analytics, business, and product teams to enhance data models and improve data accessibility, enabling robust business intelligence and data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and implement scalable solutions that align with data governance and architectural standards for data integrations, storage, reporting, and analytics.
- Perform root cause analysis on data-related issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve them efficiently.
- Mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices in coding, performance optimization, and cloud-native development.
- Communicate effectively across all levels, influencing stakeholders and IT leaders to deliver impactful data solutions.
- Partner with key stakeholders and IT leaders at all levels to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, DevOps, CI/CD, API integration, big data, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure).
What You Will Need (Minimum Qualifications)
- 5 years of experience with Talend data Integration and Talend with Big Data.
- Over 5 years of experience leading the Engineering team within the Data and Analytics technical domain.
- Over 5 years of experience in data modelling using tools like ERWIN, along with data profiling and analysis.
- More than 5 years of programming and scripting experience using Databricks SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, and Stored Procedures.
- Over 5 years of experience in Unit Testing and Automate manual processes.
- More than 5 years of experience working with RDBMS databases, preferably Snowflake, Spark SQL
- 3+ years of experience in Cloud Platforms (Azure, Snowflake) and Cloud Data Processing tools (Azure Data Factory).
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, including CI/CD, automation, and DevOps tools (Jenkins, JFrog, GitHub, Control-M).
- Good to have experience on Azure Data Engineering, Event Driven Systems, NO SQL DB.
- 3+ years of experience working with Agile and Scrum frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in building customer analytics solutions and leveraging Azure cloud architecture.
- Experience in data and information management as it relates to Customer behaviour and analytics trends and enterprise data and analytics.
- Experience in designing and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems on Azure cloud.
- Ability to learn, understand and work with new emerging Martech technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Azure cloud/IT technology space.
