Job Description
This role requires a highly skilled and experienced Power Apps developer capable of independently designing, developing, and deploying robust semantic models and interactive visualizations using Snowflake as the primary data source.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective semantic model designs and impactful visualizations.
- Design, build, and optimize Power BI semantic models (datasets) from Snowflake, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance.
- Create visually appealing and interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that effectively drive data-driven decision making.
- Ensure data security and governance best practices are implemented and adhered to within Power BI solutions.
- Optimize Power BI solutions for performance, including rendering of visuals, particularly when working with large Snowflake datasets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, semantic models, and data connectivity with Snowflake.
Required Skills
- Expert Power BI development:
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- In-depth knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating measures, calculated columns, and tables.
- Proficiency in Power Query (M language) for data extraction, transformation, and cleansing.
- Experience with advanced Power BI features like row-level security, parameters, and custom visuals.
Expert in Power Apps and Power Automate
- Design and develop canvas and model-driven apps to deliver intuitive user experiences.
- Utilize Power Fx formulas for logic implementation and data manipulation within Power Apps.
- Integrate diverse data sources including SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL Server, and external APIs.
- Build reusable components and custom controls to support scalable app development.
- Implement role-based security and manage access controls across environments.
- Create and maintain automated workflows using Power Automate with triggers, conditions, and loops.
- Leverage built-in connectors and REST APIs for seamless integration across systems.
- Develop robust error handling and monitoring strategies to ensure flow reliability.
- Design multi-step approval workflows with dynamic routing and notifications.
- Snowflake expertise:
- Hands-on experience working with Snowflake data warehouse, including data modeling, and SQL querying.
- Solid understanding of Snowflake data warehousing concepts, including architecture, virtual warehouses, and performance optimization techniques
- Data Modeling and Design:
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, etc.) and the ability to design scalable data models optimized for performance.
- Experience with designing visually appealing and user-friendly dashboards and reports according to best practices like clear objectives, audience consideration, and consistent design.
- Experience in converting loose and disparate data requirements into a wholistic semantic approach
- Strong SQL skills:
- Ability to write complex and optimized SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from Snowflake.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving skills:
- Proven analytical mindset, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to address data-related challenges and optimize solutions.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively collaborate with stakeholders
- Self-starter and adaptable:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to evolving business requirements in a fast-paced environment.
