What is the Technology Quality Assurance Team responsible for?
- Technology Quality Assurance (TQA) is dedicated to ensuring the best quality of software products are developed and Customer Experience is enhanced. Quality Engineering team builds, reuse and supports technology agnostic automated frameworks, supporting Legacy, Digital, Data and NextGen platforms.
- We are seeking a Sr Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr SDET) who has passion for using technology to develop and maintain solutions for Investment management. Experience in Investment Risk Management and Risk systems is preferred. Passion for learning investment risk is must for you to be successful in this position.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)?
- A Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr SDET) at Franklin Templeton is a developer with the responsibility of developing frameworks and tools to test products for functional and non-functional testing, Data Analytics testing and any non-functional testing like (Security/Performance/accessibility)
- It is a unique role, providing immense opportunity to design and develop and Test wide range of Applications with focus experience on Data Integration projects
- Sr SDETs at Franklin Templeton can understand software architecture, debug code, automate repetitive tasks, and implement new tools and frameworks needed to streamline our quality process.
- Our Sr SDETs work directly with both Software Development Engineers and Product Owners to understand project features, review technical designs, and implement automated test tools that help deliver quality features with efficiency. They also understand customer usage models and can develop test plans and test cases that approximate real-world environments and scenarios.
- Our Sr SDET is also responsible for grooming junior SDETs, providing oversight by incorporating technical and business domain knowledge. Self-educates to gain a comprehensive understanding of relevant development languages, runtimes, frameworks, database platforms, and tooling.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
Must Haves
- Undergrad Degree in Finance, Computer Science, or related field – Graduate Degree Desirable
- 6+ years of Experience.
- Adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Experience in Investment Management industry/Financial domain.
- Basic knowledge of statistical theory, financial instruments, and markets.
- Experience of around 2-4 years of relevant experience at Data Testing Center of Excellence,
- A firm understanding of data warehouse and database concepts.
- The ability to develop strategies, test plans, and test cases specific to data integration and the enterprise’s business.
- The ability to create effective ETL test cases and scenarios based on ETL database loading technology and business requirements.
- Working on Test Strategy for Complex Data Projects
- Testing experiences with multiple DB systems, (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Postgresql).
- Understanding of data models, data mapping documents, ETL design, and ETL coding
- Advanced skills with SQL queries, stored procedures, and test scripting to delete, define, load, and merge data for tests.
- Ability to communicate effectively with data engineers, DB designers and developers.
- Use of a variety of data quality verification tools
- Implementation of automated testing for ETL processes
- Effective use of defect management and to
- Testing on Snowflake & AWS Data Migrations
- Data Testing Automation Tools
