Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) is an integral part of the healthcare system, providing patient-centered care across a variety of settings and medical specialties. With a focus on promoting health, preventing illness, and supporting patients in managing their health conditions, an RN works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. Whether employed in hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare facilities, an RN is responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. Utilizing best practices and ethical standards, Registered Nurses play a crucial role in patients' recovery and well-being, often serving as a crucial link between patients and the broader medical team.


Responsibilities

  • Assess patients to identify care requirements and prioritize treatment based on need.
  • Develop and implement individual nursing care plans tailored to each patient's situation.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician in a safe manner.
  • Monitor and record patients’ conditions, reporting changes promptly to doctors.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families on illness management and health maintenance.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare team members for specialized and comprehensive care.
  • Ensure all patient interactions and treatments are documented accurately and confidentially.
  • Participate in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives within the community.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with regulations.
  • Respond to emergencies quickly with a calm and efficient approach to patient care.
  • Stay current with new nursing practices and protocols through continuous education.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Hold an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
  • Have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize patient needs.
  • Show proficiency in using healthcare software for managing patient care records.
  • Be able to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Remain calm under pressure and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
