Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within an establishment. This position requires a blend of exceptional organizational skills and an eye for detail to ensure that all areas under supervision are kept orderly and presentable. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will coordinate with team members to deliver excellent service to guests while adhering to safety and sanitation policies. You will also be responsible for creating a supportive environment that encourages teamwork and efficiency. By implementing training programs and monitoring performance, you will ensure that the housekeeping team consistently meets the quality standards expected by the establishment. Your leadership will be key in fostering a professional atmosphere and ensuring customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and inspect the cleaning of guest rooms and public areas for adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate work assignments and allocate resources effectively for housekeeping staff members.
  • Train new housekeeping staff members to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and address any maintenance or cleanliness issues.
  • Ensure inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment are maintained adequately and reorder as necessary.
  • Resolve guest complaints regarding housekeeping service and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate prompt and efficient service delivery to guests.
  • Prepare staff schedules to ensure sufficient workforce coverage during high business periods.
  • Implement safety regulations and hygiene standards to ensure compliance with health guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and implementing improvement plans as needed.
  • Develop and update housekeeping procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensure all housekeeping staff are knowledgeable about and trained in any new programs or updates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in hospitality management is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in housekeeping or hotel operations is required.
  • Proven supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with team and guests.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills for effective management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as business demands.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to housekeeping operations.
  • Capability to operate cleaning machinery and knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
