Job Description

Who We Are

Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.

To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.

What Youll Do

The Finance & Procurement Product Portfolio plays a critical role at the intersection of BCG’s Global Finance, Procurement, and IT functions. Its mission is to deliver best-in-class user experiences across its platforms while working with business leaders to continuously streamline and automate end-to-end processes - enabling the firm to operate more efficiently and securely, and to optimize use of the firm’s resources. The portfolio also ensures its platforms align with BCG’s global IT enterprise architecture and security standards, while seeking to minimize total platform operating costs. It embraces the latest technologies (e.g., Agentic AI) and Agile ways of working to enhance operations and deliver business value at scale.

This is an exciting time to join the Finance & Procurement portfolio. BCG is in the final stages of globally deploying Coupa, our new Source to Pay platform, which will transform how we manage sourcing, purchasing, invoicing, and supplier collaboration. As Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in the final phase of this global deployment - helping to guide the launch across 30+ markets and supporting stabilization. You will oversee the transition to the business-as-usual operating model and lead the squad that will explore ‘the art of the possible’ and expand the platform’s capabilities going forward. In this role, you will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including senior Procurement and Finance leaders, the Global Business Process Owner, and the transformation program team.

The Source to Pay Product Owner must be a customer-centric leader who enjoys working with teams to design and deliver exceptional products to customers. You will work closely with Procurement leadership to define the vision for Coupa, take ownership of that vision, translate it into a product roadmap and oversee timely delivery. You will coordinate with your Portfolio Lead to stay aligned with business goals and ensure the resources and funding are in place to achieve them. You will lead a Squad and work directly with its members to prioritize and manage what needs to be done and by when. Working with Squad members without line management authority over them will be key—you are a servant-leader and embody that in how you approach the work. To get work done, you will own and prioritize the backlog of user stories that your Squad members will use to inform their work and are responsible for supporting and motivating your squad members. You will also represent the voice of the customer, whether internal or external, and make sure that Squad members understand the customer’s needs and preferences.

Set an overall vision to direct and inform the Squad’s work

  • Work closely with the Product Portfolio Lead to understand and drive alignment on Portfolio’s business strategy, goals, and objectives
  • Translate Portfolio objectives into a clear vision (e.g., via KPIs, sprint goals) for your Squad to influence the creation and prioritization of the Squads backlog of work
  • Share information about the Squad’s output and priorities with other Product Owners to ensure alignment across the organization

Enable the organization’s way of working

  • Actively create and maintain a Squad culture based on BCG’s values and Agile behaviors
  • Model behaviors to support the organization’s adoption of new ways of working including how AI can enhance productivity
  • Support Product Analyst growth and development through informal and formal feedback as part of BCG’s performance management process

  • Product Portfolio Lead who will be your line manager and who will set the vision, roadmap, budget, priorities and OKRs for the Portfolio and subsequently, for the squads
  • Scrum Leads, who will act as your right hand to remove impediments and will assist you in preparing the required artifacts and managing ceremonies
  • Chapter Leads and Technical Lead for technical solutioning and delivery
  • Agile Coaches, with whom you will share passion for Agile ways of working
  • Other Product Owners within BCG, to share best practices and ensure alignment between squads and culture
