Senior Cloud Architect

What will you be doing?

As a member of the Business Systems team, you will be working to deliver Trimble’s digital transformation mission by modernizing our systems. You will be highly skilled in building cloud-native SaaS applications that can scale, will have significant experience in integrating disparate systems and making them work seamlessly, will stay motivated, and be collaborative to convert complex business problems into scalable solutions throughout. You will approach any solution with a quality-first mindset and solve them in a secure, reliable, and scalable way possible.

Here Is What Your Typical Day Might Look Like

• Assessment & Strategy: Partner with stakeholders, and technical teams to understand the requirements, processes, and desired outcomes. Analyze current systems and identify areas for improvement
• Solution Architecture: Translate business needs into robust and scalable system architecture spanning across multiple current and next-gen systems hosted in the cloud. The system architecture will be fault-tolerant, scalable, easy to evolve, flexible enough to incrementally deliver to meet the evolving business needs, workload demands, and compliance requirements.
• Technical Architecture: By possessing a strong understanding of AWS & Azure platform services, application development frameworks, and security best practices, you will be creating technical architecture and component designs that can be successfully implemented by the development teams.
• Implementation and Management: Oversee the development process, ensuring the solution is built according to their design. Participate in testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance to guarantee a smooth-running system.
• Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including business leaders, fellow architects, product/engineering teams, and cloud vendors. Clearly communicate complex cloud concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Represent the group as a stakeholder in architecture forums and discussions and advocate for the benefits of the systems being developed.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentations, including system and technical architecture, best practices, proposals and narratives.
  
  

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Systems Architect, Solutions Architect or similar role (3+ years), preceded by a Technical architect role (5+ years). Solid understanding of microservcies architecture, design principles, network architecture, and security best practices.
• Technical Skills:
• Experience with Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure
• Serverless - lambda, azure functions
• Containerization - Docker, Kubernetes
• SRE/DevOps - Familiarity with IaC & observability engineering
• Tech stack - Preferably C#, Java & Python, GraphQL, CQRS
• Certifications: Certifications in relevant technologies (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert etc.) are highly desirable
• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex business processes and design effective technical solutions
• Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Leadership: Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing and mentoring development teams.
