Trimble is seeking a passionate and driven Product Owner to lead the strategy and execution of our developer program, Trimble Developers. Trimble Developers will serve as a central hub for external developers to utilize APIs, consume documentation, access sandbox environments, create apps, and publish those apps to a marketplace. This role will be instrumental in shaping the future, empowering third-party developers and creating a thriving ecosystem for innovation. You will own the product roadmap, prioritize features, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver a best-in-class developer experience. You will work closely with the Trimble Marketplace team to ensure the process for developers to promote their apps is a seamless experience.
About The Role
As the Product Owner for Trimble Developers, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle, from ideation and strategy to launch and iteration. You will be the voice of the developer community and will use data-driven insights to identify opportunities and solve problems. You will work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and legal teams to bring your vision to life.
Responsibilities Include
Execute on the vision and strategy for Trimble Developers, aligning with overall company objectives.
Define the requirements for Trimble Developers.
Define and execute the end-to-end developer engagement model, including the application process, legal and security reviews, sandbox deployment, API documentation, app review and certification process, etc.
Support the internal product development of Trimble Developers through strong collaboration with other product owners/managers, engineering, user experience, information experience, and other stakeholders.
Engage with other Trimble product teams, the Trimble Marketplace team, the Trimble user base, developers, and partners to understand their needs and ensure Trimble Developers delivers exceptional value.
Write clear and concise product requirements documents (PRDs), epics, and user stories, collaborating with engineering to ensure proper understanding and execution.
Communicate the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders, gathering feedback and ensuring alignment.
Monitor developer program performance, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions to optimize the developer experience and drive growth.
Tightly integrate the Trimble Developer experience with the go-to-market motion of the Trimble Marketplace.
Collaborate with a team of Trimble stakeholders though taking Trimble Developers to market, including partnerships, legal, product marketing, support teams.
Required Education And Experience
BA/BS degree.
5 - 8 years of previous experience as a Product Owner, preferably with a focus on developer programs or platforms.
Highly proficient at working with APIs, API gateways, API authentication, SDKs, and other developer tooling.
Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling developer programs.
Experience in end-to-end product lifecycle management, from concept to launch and iteration.
Proficiency in defining product roadmaps, prioritizing features, and creating user stories.
Ability to gather and analyze user feedback, translating it into actionable insights for the development team.
Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
High level of comfort with software development processes.
Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
Excellent documentation skills along with in-depth knowledge of product strategy.
Experience creating detailed reports and presentations to senior executives and key stakeholders.
Previous experience in collaborating with sales and marketing teams to develop effective product messaging and go-to-market strategies.
A track record of successfully making and keeping commitments.
