Job Description

An Assembly & Test Technician plays an integral role in manufacturing and engineering environments by assembling and testing mechanical, electrical, or electronic components and systems. This challenging and dynamic position demands high precision and attention to detail, as well as a solid understanding of technical schematics and blueprints. The individual will work as part of a team in a controlled environment, adhering to strict production schedules and quality assurance guidelines. This position necessitates practical experience with a variety of tools and equipment, as well as the capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the production floor. The job also requires a keen eye for safety standards and maintaining clean and organized workspaces. The Assembly & Test Technician contributes to the creation of high-quality products and systems that meet the organization's specifications and customer needs.


Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, or electronic components according to technical specifications.
  • Conduct tests on assemblies to ensure product compliance with quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics accurately for assembly processes.
  • Verify the quality and functionality of components and systems before approving them.
  • Document all test and inspection results in accordance with company quality procedures.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve assembly and test issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve assembly processes and product designs.
  • Utilize measuring tools and equipment to ensure precise assembly and testing.
  • Report any non-conformance issues to supervisors and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and tools used in the assembly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing processes and operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in assembly and testing within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
  • Ability to use various hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds safely.
