Job Description
We are hiring a Senior AI Full Stack Software and Systems Engineer to join the Oracle Database Customer Focused Development & Diagnostics Technology Team, leading engineering for Oracle’s AI-driven debugging portfolio. This is a highly specialized role requiring deep expertise in log analytics, AI/ML diagnostics, cloud-native systems, and production observability. The engineer will design and deliver reusable, enterprise-grade solutions that reduce time-to-resolution for escalations and materially improve support engineering productivity.
Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement AI-assisted log analysis pipelines for automated triage, anomaly detection, and root-cause inference for Database deployment across Cloud, Multi Cloud and OnPremise.
- Modernize release validation and deployment workflows to enable reliable rollouts and rapid verification.
- Build Python-based components and frameworks (backend services, orchestration tools) to embed diagnostics and ML inference into workflows.
- Design and operate environment simulation capabilities (Docker, KVM, LXC) to reproduce complex production issues reliably.
- Implement and integrate observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch) to enable intelligent escalation handling and actionable monitoring.
- Define evaluation and governance frameworks for ML models (performance benchmarking, drift detection, explainability, rollout policies).
- Collaborate with product, sustaining, and platform teams to produce reusable libraries, APIs, and platform integrations for cross-initiative adoption.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with an emphasis on log analytics, diagnostics, and production debugging.
- Proven experience building and owning cloud-native systems (developer tools, release pipeline etc.).
- Strong Python skills (backend services, frameworks, orchestration).
- Expertise with observability & monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, tracing).
- Good Hands-on experience in builing AI first solutions.
- Hands-on experience with environment simulation / reproducibility (Docker, KVM, LXC).
- Strong Linux / OS fundamentals — shell, networking, process management, performance profiling, and troubleshooting at the OS level.
- Solid fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design — able to design scalable, low-latency, resilient systems and reason about complexity.
- Familiarity integrating AI/ML inference into production pipelines and understanding challenges like latency, drift, and explainability.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins or similar).
- Excellent debugging instincts, ability to triage large volumes of telemetry/logs, and a track record of delivering pragmatic, production-ready solutions in enterprise contexts.
