Role Profile
We are seeking a visionary Senior Manager – SRE Transformation & Product Integration to lead the strategic evolution of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) within the Risk Intelligence Division of the London Stock Exchange Group, based in Bangalore. This role is pivotal in repositioning SRE from a reactive support function to a proactive, product-integrated reliability engineering capability.
The successful candidate will serve as a strategic partner, connecting SRE and product engineering to drive transformation initiatives that embed reliability, observability, and automation into the heart of our practices. This role is accountable for reducing operational cost, strengthening production readiness, and building a culture of learning and resilience across global teams.
Key Responsibilities
- SRE Transformation Leadership Own the transformation of SRE practices across the division, embedding SLOs, observability, and automation into product development lifecycles.
- Strategic Product Integration Act as the primary liaison between SRE and product teams to ensure reliability is a core design principle from project inception through delivery.
- Operational Transfer Support (OTS) Oversee early engagement in projects to ensure production readiness and seamless operational handover.
- Cost-to-Operate (CTO) Optimization Drive initiatives to reduce CTO across product and support domains through tooling, automation, and process improvements.
- Knowledge Management Framework Establish and maintain a robust framework to reduce siloed expertise, promote cross-training, and increase team fungibility across shifts, products, and regions.
- Standardization & Resilience Champion the standardization of tools, documentation, and engineering practices to enable fluid resource movement and enhance global support resilience.
Person Specification
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Required Skills And Experience
- Demonstrated experience (15+ years) leading SRE or DevOps transformation initiatives in large-scale, complexed environment.
- Strong understanding of SRE principles including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and observability.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Minimum 5 + years of working knowledge on AWS Services – Lambda, ECS, ALB, RDS, CloudWatch Insights, etc.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in automation and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
- Strong business insight with the ability to align reliability goals with cost considerations.
- Knowledge of ITIL and service management frameworks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong partnership and influence at all levels.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in financial services or risk intelligence domains.
- Exposure to Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with Programming Languages like Java, Python and Shell.
