Profile Description

We’re seeking someone to join our team as (Associate) who can support activities for WMPT India including Hiring, MIS, resource management, time management, and reporting.

WM_Technology

Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business. Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.

WM Product Technology

Wealth Management Product Technology (WMPT) is a dynamic and fast-paced area within the Firm’s WM Technology Division. We are responsible for creating innovative technology solutions for the Private Banking Group (PBG), one of the strategic growth areas of the Firm, providing cash management and lending products and services to our WM clients. This includes state-of-the-art technology for a nationwide network of Private Bankers and product specialists who work with Financial Advisors to provide access to products and services such as online banking, cards, deposit products, residential mortgages, securities-based loans, and tailored lending. This is Associate position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What You’ll Do In The Role

• Understand business processes, a bigger picture and core ideas behind the developed software.
• Support business analysts and developers with data subject expertise, query building and optimization
• Educate and evangelize application teams of the best practices on query building and optimization, data modeling and design
• Develop a thorough understanding of the data definitions, domain values, data relationships, business rules, sources, and data integration for each subject area
• Advocate and advance toward cutting edge engineering technologies
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
• Run projects in Agile way. Actively contribute and participate in daily stand-ups, and Agile Sprint planning and grooming sessions.
  
  

Skills Required

What you’ll bring to the role:

• 3-5 Years of strong database/Analytics/ETL (Informatica PowerCenter)/BI design and development experience
• Strong Data Modeling skills - Enterprise Data Model (OLTP) and Dimensional modelling. Well versed with principles, techniques and best practices of data modelling.
• Strong Skills in SQL, Database (preferably Teradata) including database design, performance tuning, writing complex DB programs etc.
• Should be proficient in scripting (Unix Shell/Python)
• Demonstrate proficient skills in analysis and resolution of application performance problems.
• Experience with Reporting/BI Tools is a plus.
• Experience in driving project end to end, defining milestones, managing business expectation.
• Strong computer science fundamentals; scalable and resilient system design.
• Database fundamentals; relational and NoSQL.
• Ensure designs, code and processes are optimized for performance, scalability, security, reliability and maintainability
• Understanding of requirements of large enterprise applications (security, entitlements, etc.)
• Provide technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques. Serve as a guide and mentor for junior level Software Development Engineers
• Exposure to JIRA or other ALM tools to create a productive, high quality development environment
• Previous experience in working with global teams
• Proven experience in working within an Agile framework
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to produce high quality work independently and work well in a team
• Excellent communication skills (written, interpersonal, presentation), with the ability to easily and effectively interact and negotiate with business stakeholders
• Ability and strong desire to learn new languages, frameworks, tools and platforms quickly
• Growth mindset, personal excellence, collaborative spirit
  
  

Good To Have Skills

• Work experience with Azure or other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, etc.
• Exposure to programming languages python/R/ java and experience with implementing Data analytics projects
• CoPilot Exposure
• Expert in Git and development workflows.
• Financial domain experience.
• Exposure to Regulatory Reporting and Credit Risk
• Experience with Hadoop Ecosystem.
