Grab Financial’s Lending team focuses on providing microcredit and loan products to our valued drivers and merchants within the Grab ecosystem. Over the past five years, this business has evolved into a significant profit driver for Grab, operating across six Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Our team consists of fintech lending experts working across multiple teams and verticals, organized into dedicated regional and country structures. You will be a key part of this innovative team, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, in an onsite role based in Bangalore.

As an Engineering Manager at Grab, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives in product and technology development for our lending business.

This hybrid role involves shaping the broader technical strategy, working alongside engineering, product managers, and business stakeholders. You will also mentor junior team members and manage engineering projects, directly influencing the future trajectory of Lending at Grab.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, business, and program management, to ensure timely deliverables.
• Participate in technical and product review meetings to drive innovative solutions.
• Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and operationally excellent code.
• Oversee and close assigned code and design reviews to maintain technical rigor.
• Partner with the SRE and DevOps teams to set up and optimize hardware and microservices infrastructure.
  
  

• Embody Grabs 4H principles: Heart, Hunger, Honour, and Humility.
• 9+ years of experience in software development management, with a strong focus on B2C products and services.
• Proficiency in Java and experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Proven expertise in system design and software architecture, including designing large-scale, high-availability web and mobile applications.
• Experience in conducting detailed code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
• Skilled in managing geo-distributed teams and delivering high-volume, internationalized web and app experiences.
• Strong data-driven approach to balancing feature development with time-to-market considerations.
