BIM Engineer - Digital

Responsibilities

• Regularly owns and completes scope on complex projects across digital and structural engineering
• Perform parametric and generative designs on a project needs basis
• Guide and train team members from the structural team to build skills through completing the project work
• Work with structures digital leadership to develop key custom structural engineering tools as prioritized by business and project needs
• Focus on sprint development, balancing need for quick solutions
• Maintain, improve and further develop existing tools
• Contribute to strategic R&D initiatives such as development of AI based tools to support engineering design and quality control
  
  

• Over 5 years of experience working in design and delivery of structural engineering projects for buildings.
• Experience with common structural design platforms such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Python, VBA (Excel), and CSI software APIs.
• Basic working knowledge with common AI models and machine learning.
• Willingness to learn additional programming languages and software development platforms.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks, and adapt to shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
• Commitment to regularly enhancing technical and professional skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, creative environment.
• Punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and very organized.
  
  
  

• Prior knowledge of Grasshopper/Rhino.
• Prior experience with GUI development is an asset.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platforms.
• Experience with Revit API or Dynamo.
• Web development skills including back-end and/or front-end.
