Purpose of the Job

We are looking for an energetic and talented individual to join our growing team as a Senior Accountant. In this critical role, you will make a significant contribution to the “engine” of finance and accounting through the enhancement and implementation of accounting systems and processes, assisting with month-end close activities, and other special project designed to drive efficiencies and scalability while ensuring effective policy and control. The ideal candidate will be a team player and have a solid background in Accounts Payable. You will be empowered to take ownership of projects to drive results. Your success will be supported by the team, and you will receive third party training and direct access to external technology solution consultants.

The role will be both demanding and rewarding where you can make a difference working in a cornerstone team of our organization, with exposure to senior leaders. You will work with our global accounting teams to drive process optimization through a lean mindset and leveraging of technology and be ready to tackle projects that they didn’t wake up thinking they needed to address.

This position will be based in Wind River’s Bangalore Office and flexible hybrid mode.

Mission

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting cycles by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
  • Assist in the month end close and reporting process, external audits, annual and monthly accounting commitments.
  • Take ownership, with limited supervision of daily Accounts Payable and vendor management function through Oracle R12, uploading of payments in banking channel, assist monthly consolidation and reporting process and maintain accurate Accounts Payable and Withholding tax reconciliation accounts.
  • Review expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Own Vendor onboarding process, review vendor invoices to confirm the account code, budget, taxes, and payment arrangements.
  • Collaborate in Customs processes (Imports and Exports).
  • Help maintain a strong control environment that is compliant with company policy and accounting standards. Develop SOP’s for IFC and SOX controls.
  • Work on complex issues where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

About You

  • The candidate must be based in Bangalore.
  • 5 years of experience in similar roles, preferably within a multi-national enterprise.
  • Oracle R12 experience required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent with a solid knowledge of Accounts Payable and general ledger structure.
  • India income tax withholding (TDS) knowledge, data collation and monitoring of filing of TDS returns.
  • Familiarity with vendor prepayment, employee prepayments and related settlement processes.
  • Familiar with UAT testing and driving with ERP support desk to go live the patches and system implementation in AP modules.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, multi-task, and work independently, and execute objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Modern process and tools thinking, specifically working to implement, integrate, and improve accounting and financial technology and processes.
  • Support the team in successful completion of ad-hoc projects and deliverables, as required.
  • Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside our own area of expertise.
  • Energetic, hands-on, and resourceful self-starter who can partner with all levels and functions of the company with a consultative and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment; demonstrates a sense of urgency and should be results-driven.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) to connect and collaborate effectively with a diverse set of peers and stakeholders; constructive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Significant attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
