As a key leader within the Mars manufacturing ecosystem, the Plant Manager is entrusted with the strategic and operational oversight of the Baddi plant. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless deployment of supply strategies, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, and driving operational excellence. The Plant Manager acts as a catalyst for innovation, aligning plant operations with organizational goals, and delivering sustainable business results.
The strategic part of the role is proactively developed through consultation and collaboration with Business Unit leadership teams, Regional leadership teams and the Global Supply Leadership team.
Strategy deployment then occurs through collaboration and partnering with Regional and local cross-divisional teams. A range of standards, policies and guidelines provide assistance in the execution of strategy. Standard business processes such as S&OP+ provide a framework for tracking and decision across all areas of the CBN including the Associate related strategies.
Visible leadership, role modelling and regular communication with all Associates on Site.
What are we looking for?
At minimum, 15 years of proven leadership experience in large-scale manufacturing environments, ideally within the FMCG or consumer goods sector.
Extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex operations.
Strong expertise in safety standards, quality management, and environmental compliance.
Demonstrated success in implementing lean manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Proven ability to lead change, influence stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives.
What will be your key responsibilities?
This role is accountable for the deployment and delivery of the Supply Strategy on the site, which in turn provides a safe, rewarding and engaging environment for Associates and enables the Business Unit and Region to realize the overall Demand Strategy. The role directly leads the Manufacturing, Technical, IE & MSE and HSE & Security function to provide strategic advantage.
Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence
Develop and implement strategic plans to meet production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives.
Lead the plant’s operational activities, ensuring alignment with Mars’ global standards and local regulations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lean methodologies and innovative practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimize plant operations.
2. Safety, Quality & Compliance
Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring all safety protocols and standards are rigorously followed across the plant.
Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring products meet or exceed organizational and regulatory standards.
Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, fostering sustainable manufacturing practices.
Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential safety or quality issues.
3. Leadership & Talent Development
Inspire and lead a diverse team of managers and frontline employees, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and engagement.
Identify talent gaps and implement development programs to build leadership capacity within the plant.
Promote a collaborative environment that encourages open communication, teamwork, and shared success.
Recognize and reward high performance, ensuring employee motivation and retention.
4. Supply Chain & Production Optimization
Oversee production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet customer demands efficiently.
Collaborate with supply chain partners to optimize logistics, inventory management, and material flow.
Implement best practices for safety, quality, and efficiency, ensuring seamless supply chain operations.
Lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance overall supply chain responsiveness.
