Design and Development Engineer

Job Description

In your new role you will:

• We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer to join our Power Systems and Solutions (PSS) GaN team at Infineon Technologies. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of next-generation SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply) applications, working closely with a cross-functional team in a dynamic and innovation-driven environment.
• Contribute to the design and development of high-performance SMPS applications using Infineon GaN technology.
• Develop and maintain Matlab/Simulink models to support automated code generation.
• Program and implement SMPS control algorithms in C, reusing and adapting existing code frameworks.
• Design and optimize PCBs for power applications, with a focus on compactness, reliability, and thermal efficiency.
• Perform hardware validation and application verification in the lab, including testing and measurements.
• Ensure complete ownership of assigned design modules—from conception to validation and documentation.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure design quality and robustness in line with
  
  

industry standards.

Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics / Electrical Engineering.
• Strong programming skills in C and experience with Matlab/Simulink.
• Basic understanding of Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS).
• Familiarity with analog components (e.g., op-amps, comparators, gate drivers) is a plus.
• Hands-on exposure to lab measurements and testing equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of PCB design, preferably using Altium Designer.
• Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive working attitude.
