Job Description

The Sales Engineer for Substation Automation is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise with sales acumen within the energy sector. This professional is responsible for promoting and selling automation solutions tailored for substation environments, enhancing energy distribution systems’ efficiency and reliability. The role demands an in-depth understanding of both the technical aspects of substation automation and market trends to effectively pitch solutions to clients. Acting as a bridge between the R&D team and potential customers, the Sales Engineer must articulate technical details in an accessible manner to a diverse clientele base. This position requires traveling to various client sites and possessing the ability to work under pressure, meeting sales targets while building lasting business relationships.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the substation automation sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with engineers, procurement teams, and technical managers.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to understand and communicate product specifications to clients.
  • Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations to prospective and existing clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits while meeting customer satisfaction.
  • Provide post-sales support to clients, ensuring the effective implementation of solutions.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive products, and the latest technological advancements.
  • Analyze markets and customer needs to identify new product development opportunities.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events as a company representative.
  • Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts, and customer feedback to the management team.
  • Train and assist clients in effectively utilizing substation automation systems.
  • Coordinate with logistics and delivery teams to ensure timely delivery of products to clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in sales within the automation technology sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of substation systems and automation solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successful sales and client relationship management.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work in various client environments as required.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and other Microsoft Office applications.
