Job Description

The Collection Executive plays a vital role in managing and maintaining a company’s accounts receivable. This role is crucial for ensuring that payments are collected in a timely manner, reducing bad debts, and maintaining healthy cash flow. As a Collection Executive, you will be responsible for monitoring outstanding accounts, communicating with customers to facilitate settlements, and implementing effective collection strategies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to achieve collection targets. In this role, you will work closely with the finance and sales teams to reconcile balances and provide reports that influence business decisions.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the complete collection process for outstanding accounts.
  • Ensure timely follow-up with customers regarding outstanding invoiced amounts.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to reconcile customer balances and disputes.
  • Maintain accurate records of collection activities and outstanding accounts status.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to negotiate payment terms and settlements.
  • Prepare periodic reports on collection activities and progress against targets.
  • Identify potential risks in credit management and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with the improvement and tightening of company credit policies.
  • Utilize collection software and tools to improve efficiency and tracking.
  • Escalate unresolved collection issues to management for further action.
  • Support customer retention initiatives by resolving complaints related to collections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven work experience of at least 2 years in a collection role.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with collection software and financial management systems.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations and manage conflict situations calmly.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
