Job Description

The Business Development Manager (Retail) plays a critical role in driving the retail growth strategy by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and managing key client relationships. This dynamic role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the retail landscape and a proven track record in business development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing business strategies to expand market presence and increase revenue. They must thrive in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication and negotiation skills. This position also requires strong analytical abilities to evaluate market trends and assess potential business ventures in the ever-evolving retail industry.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the retail market presence.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to execute business strategies effectively.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare and present proposals to potential clients highlighting retail solutions.
  • Negotiate agreements and contracts with clients and business partners.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure successful implementation.
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics and business development activities.
  • Develop and oversee business development plans to meet revenue targets.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on market data.
  • Engage in networking events and conferences to enhance the company’s retail visibility.
  • Ensure all business development initiatives align with the company's retail goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in business development, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Strong understanding of retail market dynamics and consumer behavior trends.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and business intelligence tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex retail data.
