Job Description

An Estimation Engineer plays a crucial role in the construction and engineering sectors by assessing project requirements and preparing accurate cost estimates. This position involves analyzing project blueprints, specifications, and related documents to develop an in-depth understanding of the scope of work required. The Estimation Engineer works closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to gather necessary information and make informed projections about material, labor, and time costs. The objective is to provide comprehensive estimates that ensure competitive bidding and successful project execution within budget. The Estimation Engineer must possess a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing project plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather necessary project information.
  • Review and interpret project documents, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements for project execution.
  • Research and select suitable materials and suppliers for project needs.
  • Provide cost-saving suggestions and value engineering options to clients.
  • Maintain updated records of estimates, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Analyze market trends to anticipate future costs and potential challenges.
  • Ensure that estimates comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and project budgeting documentation.
  • Evaluate existing estimation techniques and recommend areas for process improvement.
  • Conduct post-project analysis to refine estimation techniques and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in estimation within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in estimation software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills for accurate cost estimation.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for client interactions.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
