Job Description

As a Retail Sales Assistant, you play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for customers. You will be the face of the retail outlet, greeting and assisting customers with their purchases while providing detailed product knowledge and service. Your primary objective is to drive sales, build a strong rapport with customers, and contribute to achieving the store’s sales targets. A successful Retail Sales Assistant is enthusiastic, possesses excellent communication skills, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times. You should be adaptable, ready to manage till operations, stock shelves, and contribute to a vibrant team environment that prioritizes customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers with their purchases to enhance purchasing satisfaction.
  • Deliver expert product knowledge and tailored recommendations to meet customer needs.
  • Contribute to achieving and surpassing retail sales and store performance targets.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and fully stocked sales floor for optimal presentation.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and efficiently.
  • Utilize point-of-sale systems for processing cash, card, and digital transactions.
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock checks and replenishments as needed.
  • Participate actively in sales promotions, events, and marketing initiatives in store.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and workflow.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment, and security practices.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the retail space.
  • Gather and report customer feedback to improve products and customer service.

Requirements

  • Previous retail experience or customer service experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and customer-oriented service approach.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Proficiency in using computers and point-of-sale systems is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with a diverse customer base.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a busy, dynamic retail team.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform advisory sales tasks.
