The role of a Credit and Collections Analyst is pivotal in managing and optimizing a company's cash flow and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts. Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze customer creditworthiness to minimize risk of non-payment.
  • Establish and monitor credit limits in accordance with company policies.
  • Develop and implement effective collections strategies and procedures.
  • Maintain and update accurate records of all credit and collections activities.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve billing and payment issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with sales and finance departments to ensure alignment on credit terms and collections initiatives.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on aging accounts and collection activities.
  • Recommend policy changes to improve credit and collections processes and reduce risk.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws regarding credit and collections.
  • Investigate historical data for debts and bills and initiate legal proceedings, if necessary.
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements with delinquent customers to recover outstanding debts.
  • Utilize financial software to monitor account statuses and transactions effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in credit analysis and collections management is essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with clients and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data accurately.
