Job Description

The Admission Counselor plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of students and creating diverse and dynamic student communities within educational institutions. This role involves guiding prospective students through the admissions process, offering personalized support, and ensuring a smooth transition from application to enrollment. The Admission Counselor is tasked with developing strong relationships with students, parents, and high school counselors, acting as a brand ambassador and communicating the value of the institution. This position demands excellent communication skills, a strong ability to build rapport, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. With the ultimate aim of attracting a talented and varied student body, the Admission Counselor uses data-driven strategies, effective outreach programs, and a genuine passion for education.


Responsibilities

  • Guide prospective students through all stages of the admissions process effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors and community organizations.
  • Conduct informational sessions and tours to prospective students and families.
  • Evaluate student applications, including academic records and personal essays for admission consideration.
  • Utilize data-driven strategies to enhance the recruitment and admissions processes.
  • Participate in college fairs and recruitment events to attract prospective students.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to identify special programs for targeted recruitment efforts.
  • Provide personalized support and counseling to students throughout the application process.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on academic programs, student life, and campus facilities.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of marketing strategies for recruitment purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures during the admission process.
  • Attend professional development workshops to enhance counseling and recruitment skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, marketing, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in admissions or a related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical ability to assess and interpret student data and applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel and work evenings and weekends for recruitment events.
  • Passion for education and commitment to enhancing student diversity and inclusion.
