Job Description

The Patient Administration role is a critical position in healthcare settings, focusing on managing patient information, coordinating admissions, and ensuring a seamless experience from check-in to discharge. This role requires a proactive and organized individual who can efficiently handle multiple administrative tasks while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities

  • Handle and process patient admissions, record entries, and discharge procedures proficiently.
  • Manage patient files and ensure all information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth patient flow and service delivery.
  • Assist patients and their families by providing necessary information and addressing concerns.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, tests, and follow-ups with attention to detail.
  • Verify and update patient insurance information and assist with billing queries.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in the handling and management of private files and information.
  • Support clinical staff with administrative tasks to facilitate effective patient care.
  • Prepare and generate reports related to patient records and administrative functions.
  • Keep updated with hospital policies and procedures to provide accurate patient information.
  • Use electronic health records systems to input and retrieve patient data efficiently.
  • Respond to patient inquiries both in person and via phone with professionalism and empathy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar healthcare or administrative position is an advantage.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems and office software tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Empathetic and patient-focused approach with excellent customer service skills.
