Job Description

A Medical Representative serves as the critical link between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals. These professionals play a vital role in promoting pharmaceutical products, ensuring that healthcare providers are well informed about the latest developments and advancements in medications and treatments. A Medical Representative is responsible for meeting with doctors, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to promote their company's products, recommend possible alternatives, and provide relevant updates on the latest research findings. They must possess a deep understanding of their company's product line and maintain a high level of scientific knowledge to answer detailed inquiries. The role demands excellent communication skills, resilience, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals to effectively promote products.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and convey product information accurately.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings and presentations with healthcare providers regularly.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitive products in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events to network and gather market intelligence.
  • Achieve sales targets and expand customer base by implementing effective strategies.
  • Maintain detailed records of calls and interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote new launches and drive brand awareness.
  • Provide feedback to the company on marketing campaigns and competitive market activity.
  • Assure compliance with applicable pharmaceutical industry regulations and standards.
  • Clearly and persuasively communicate the scientific merits and benefits of products.
  • Educate healthcare providers and their staff on proper product usage and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, life sciences, or a related medical field.
  • Proven experience in sales with a demonstrable track record in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with medical professionals.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours to meet targets successfully.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make strategic sales decisions accordingly.
