Job Description

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our establishment maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene. You will be responsible for leading a team of housekeepers, inspecting the work of staff, and ensuring all areas are cleaned to the satisfaction of our guests and in accordance with our brand standards. Your keen attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to motivate your team will ensure a pristine and welcoming environment for visitors and staff alike. You will liaise closely with other departments to ensure efficient and coordinated servicing and reporting of housekeeping needs and issues. This role will also involve training new staff, being aware of all chemical safety procedures, and managing supplies and inventory.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect assigned areas to ensure standards of cleanliness and hygiene are met.
  • Coordinate cleaning activities with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures and safety protocols regularly.
  • Develop staff schedules to ensure adequate and efficient coverage of all areas.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request reorders as necessary to avoid shortages.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns related to housekeeping promptly.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to housekeeping team members.
  • Enforce compliance with hotel policies, safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
  • Prepare reports and updates for management on housekeeping activities and needs.
  • Manage emergency situations effectively, such as spills or safety hazards, providing immediate responses.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards for the housekeeping department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for team coordination and guest interaction.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products, supplies, equipment, and best practices for their use.
  • Proficiency in computer software systems, including inventory management and scheduling platforms.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
