Job Description

A CCTV Technician is a security professional responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and related equipment. These specialists play a critical role in ensuring the security and surveillance systems are functional, efficient, and effective in monitoring and protecting properties. They must have a strong understanding of various types of CCTV systems and possess the technical skills necessary to troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Often working on-site, a CCTV Technician requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the successful operation of surveillance systems and adherence to safety standards.


Responsibilities

  • Install and configure CCTV cameras and related surveillance equipment on-site.
  • Maintain and service CCTV systems to ensure effective and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair CCTV systems to resolve unexpected performance issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections to assess the condition of CCTV equipment.
  • Consult with clients to determine specific security and surveillance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all security and safety protocols during installations.
  • Collaborate with other security personnel to enhance surveillance effectiveness.
  • Document and report technical issues and maintenance activities in detail.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in CCTV technology and trends.
  • Provide training to clients on proper use and maintenance of CCTV systems.
  • Assist in designing comprehensive security solutions tailored to client requirements.
  • Adhere to company policies and maintain high standards of customer service.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CCTV Technician or in a similar technical role.
  • Strong understanding of CCTV systems, including analog and IP cameras.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Proficiency in installing and configuring DVR/NVR systems for recording purposes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in various environments.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
  • Familiarity with network setups and basic knowledge of networking principles.
  • Relevant technical certification or vocational training in electronics is preferred.
